The staff at Kingstown furniture based in Hull, arrived at work one morning to be told they had lost their jobs with immediate effect.

The company that operated under two trading names – Kingstown Furniture and Consort Furniture, employed around 280 people.

The administrators said the closure was due to drop in sales and “challenging market conditions”
