Simton Food employees, you may have a protective award claim

We are sorry to hear that Simtom Food Products have gone into administration. We understand that this may put many jobs at risk and are here to support those employees.

If you are an employee of Simtom Food Products, we are here to support you through the process.

We understand that many of you have been made redundant. If this is the unfortunate case then you may be entitled to  payment by way of pursuing a protective awards claim.

What is a Protective Award?

A protective award is a sum of money, which is awarded to employees following their redundancy. To be entitled to receive a protective award, you must have:

  • Not been consulted with adequately by your employer prior to your redundancy (even if your employer went insolvent)
  • 20 or more employees at Simtom Foods have been made redundant, including yourself (your length of employment doesn’t matter)

This is extremely important, as you qualify for a protective award if the above conditions are met. Several employees are not aware of their rights and therefore never have the opportunity to receive further redundancy payment.

How much will I receive?

You can receive a maximum 90 days’ gross pay, which is capped at £544 per week.
