Linder Myers has established a specialist occupational disease team following its recent acquisition of Rowlands Field Cunningham Solicitors.
Based in the firm’s Manchester headquarters, the team will be well placed to help asbestos victims and their families in light of recent Supreme Court rulings on asbestos claims and will offer additional coverage through the firm’s offices in Shropshire and Lancashire.
Heading the team, Jon Andrews, partner at Linder Myers said: “Recent Supreme Court rulings rightly give greater access to justice to asbestos victims and their families and should unlock many millions of pounds of compensation that would otherwise have been denied to them.
“The industrial heritage of Manchester and many other areas has left a legacy of asbestos exposure and we are looking forward to building a Centre of Excellence to provide the very best legal help and support to asbestos victims and their families”.
Bernard Seymour, managing partner at Linder Myers commented: “We are committed to growing the firm and our specialist occupational disease team has been established to ensure that we meet the needs of the local market. We anticipate an increase in claims which will help ease the lives of those affected by asbestos and their families.”
Linder Myers’ occupational disease team will also advise on a range of other work related illnesses including hand arm vibratory syndrome and noise induced hearing loss.
