Fazenda – redundancy claims
The sale of City District Limited has saved more than 240 jobs. However, Birmingham’s Fazenda and Picanha by Fazenda in Chester have not been included in this deal, which means 69 members of staff now facing redundancy. Those staff may be entitled to claim for a protective award.
Facing redundancy due to administration
The redundancy process is often a difficult time for the individual facing redundancy, but when its a mass redundancy due to the collapse of a company it can be particularly hard to know what to expect.
If you’ve been affected by the closure of these restaurants it’s essential you understand your rights, including the potential eligibility to claim for a Protective Award. This would entitle you to up to 90 days’ pay, based on your wage prior to furlough.
The employment team at Linder Myers, headed up by Alan Lewis has extensive experience in Protective Awards. With offices across the UK, the team has successfully acted on a number of similar large-scale matters.
The right to claim for Protective Awards isn’t always well-known to employees and there’s a time limit of three months to begin a claim so it’s important to act fast with professional guidance. We understand how difficult this time is and our experienced team are on-hand to guide you through the process. Get in touch today for a free, no-obligation discussion.
