Diane’s first career was in Business and Finance, working in the sectors of healthcare, engineering and logistics, taking a career break in 1994 to bring up a family and to retrain, for a second career in law, graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004 with an LL.B (Hons) Degree.
She completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester in 2005 and then worked, for a Legal 500 law firm as a legal advisor, practicing in the niche area of employment law and taxation, combining her legal and accountancy experience. Diane qualified as a solicitor in 2010 having trained with within a niche Legal 500 family law, legal aid practice,
Diane brings more than nine years legal experience to Linder Myers strengthening their existing and well respected childcare team, headed by Tony Broadley.
Diane has a passion for childcare law and working with families. She has developed an excellent reputation as a specialist childcare solicitor, having worked with leading experts in this specialist area of practice. She regularly represents parents, grandparents, extended family members and children (on instruction by the child’s guardian) in care and supervision proceedings, advising on a range of issues where the Local Authority have issued proceedings to safeguard a child.
She advises family members and foster carers on Special Guardianship Orders, and individuals and couples seeking to adopt a child, advising also on complex issues where a child has been made a Ward of Court and also in Private Law Children Act Proceedings, involving disputes between parents on Child Arrangement Orders, Specific Issue and Prohibited Steps Orders. She has experience of conducting cases having a foreign jurisdictional element.
Diane has a sensitive and non judgemental approach when advising clients and importantly listens to clients to ensure that they have a say in childcare proceedings. An enthusiastic advocate, Diane represents clients in the Family Court, before Lay Benches, District and Circuit Judges. She was appointed as an Accredited member of the Law Society’s Children’s Panel in 2013 following interview at the Law Society in London.
Diane has represented clients across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Shropshire and splits her time evenly between our four regional offices.

Personal information: Diane is married to a fellow solicitor. They have two daughters, their eldest daughter sharing the family passion for the law and she is currently studying towards her degree in law at university. Diane’s youngest daughter is in further education at college. Diane enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the theatre and cinema, eating out and home cookery, as well as going to the gym and keeping fit. Diane has two Cavalier King Charles dogs and loves walking them in the Cheshire Countryside.
