Colin joined Linder Myers in 1991, becoming a Principal Lawyer shortly afterwards. He was Head of the department, one of the foremost Family teams in the Northwest, until November 2011 when he took on the additional role of Partner Liaison. Colin also sees clients from the Shropshire region and spends time working from this office.
Colin has specialised in Family law since 1989.
For many years, Colin has acted for high net worth individuals, especially those in professional practice, for example medical and dental, those in business and in sport, developing an understanding of and expertise in such aspects as business valuation, capitalisation, liquidity, family trusts and pensions and has written and spoken regularly on these issues.
Colin’s practice also has an international element involving foreign assets, be they personal, property or business related, off shore trusts, enforceability of agreements and orders, and cross border children disputes.
His knowledge and expertise have been utilised by the drama departments of several television companies seeking background legal advice.

Education: Degree at Liverpool John Moores University and College of Law, Chester
Employment: Trained at a firm in Merseyside qualifying in 1985, and remained there until 1989 when he moved to Birkenhead to specialise in Family Law before moving to Linder Myers in 1991 to head up the Family Department.
Memberships: Colin is a Resolution (formerly Solicitors Family Law Association SFLA) accredited specialist, and former National Secretary of that organisation.
Colin is also a qualified family law arbitrator.
Colin sums up his approach to work as: “My aim is to always provide practical and constructive advice to achieve positive and cost effective solutions”.
Colin is married with two daughters and lives in Merseyside. He is a keen golfer, cricket enthusiast and follower of Liverpool FC.
How do you relax when you’re not at work?
Playing golf, listening to and playing music and eating and drinking with family and friends.
What is your favourite restaurant in Manchester?
There are lots of places I enjoy eating in Manchester and I could not really decide between them but my favourite food is Italian.
What is the achievement you are most proud of?
When I was young a couple of my ambitions were to drive a Mercedes and to be a single handicap golfer. For one weekend in September 2005 I achieved both albeit the car was a company car and the following weekend I was back to playing off 10!
