Richard Lawson | Associate

Richard joined Linder Myers in 1998, becoming an Associate in 2000. Richard works in the Personal Injury department.

Richard has extensive experience in personal injury cases, with particular specialisms in these areas:

  • Criminal injuries CICA claims
  • Psychiatric injury
  • Sexual abuse
  • Stress at work
  • Road traffic accidents (RTAs)
  • Slips and trips


Notable cases which Richard has worked on, and which highlight his expertise, include:

  • Ms TC (CICA) - £430,000 CICA award for the client who was caught up in a robbery at work, where the colleague was murdered.
  • Mr AO v Halliburton - £100,000 for client who suffered psychiatric injury/stress at work whilst working for a global oil company.
  • Mrs JH (CICA) - £130,000 CICA award for a client who was sexually abused in childhood by a family member.
  • Multiple claimants v MOD (PTSD Group Action) - The group action case was taken to trial, whereby 2000 traumatised ex-soldiers alleged a failure to diagnose and treat psychiatric injuries sustained in combat.
  • Mr CD v Stagecoach - £19,400 awarded for physical and psychiatric injuries sustained after the client was knocked off his motorbike by a coach.


Richard lives in Greater Manchester and is married with two children. He has many hobbies and interests including watching his team, Manchester United, photography, news and current affairs, travelling and spending time with his family.
