Office of the Public Guardian – Fee update

As from 1 October 2011, the OPG will be changing their fee structure.

The registration fee for Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney will rise from £120 to £130.

There will be a Repeat Application Fee of £65 each time an Lasting Power of Attorney is resubmitted to the OPG within 3 months of an application being rejected.

For Court of Protection deputyships, the Type 1, 2A and 2 supervision tariffs will be removed in favour of a flat fee of £320. Type 3 supervision will attract a £35 fee.

The maximum threshold of capital for those qualifying for Type 3 supervision is to rise from £16,000 to £21,000 over a period of 4 years.

A new Fee Remissions policy of 50% for those who have a gross income of up to £12,000 will also be introduced.
