Jenny Arnold | Solicitor

Jenny is a Solicitor in the Family Department. She qualified as an Assistant Solicitor into the Family Department in November 2011.

Notable cases
Jenny has worked on the landmark case of G v E [2010] EWCA 2512 where the Court of Appeal held that the Local Authority had breached the Article 5 and Article 8 human rights of a 19 year old man with severe learning difficulties by unlawfully removing him from the care of his foster mother. In this case, the Court of Protection also set out guidelines that should be taken into account when deciding whether to appoint a health and welfare deputy.

Education: Jenny went to the University of Nottingham and achieved a 2:1 Degree in LLB Law. She then went to Nottingham Law School and attained a distinction in her LPC.

Employment Jenny completed her training at Linder Myers and worked in the Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Human Rights and Trusts and Estates Departments.

Memberships Jenny is a member of the Mentor Scheme at the College of Law, advising and mentoring LPC students in the progression of their career as a solicitor.
 

Jenny lives in Manchester City Centre.

In her spare time she enjoys running and took part in the Manchester 10km this year raising money for Christies Hospital. She is also a member of the Linder Myers Race for Life Team and attends weekly Street Dance lessons to keep fit! Jenny loves to travel and enjoys spending her  holidays going skiing and seeing different parts of the world. When Jenny is not working she enjoys eating out and socialising with friends and family.

What is your favourite restaurant in Manchester?
El Rincon is a beautiful tapas restaurant just off Deansgate. It does delicious Spanish tapas and has a great atmosphere. Dining there transports you to Spain for the evening.

What is the achievement you are most proud of?
Completing the 4 day trek to Macchu Picchu in Peru was gruelling, especially at such a high altitude, however when I got there it was definitely worth it and I was proud that Id made it in one piece.

Tell us an interesting fact that nobody knows about you? 
I did a skydive at 15,000 feet over a glacier in New Zealand.
