International estate dispute
Our team of solicitors have recently settled a case where we negotiated on behalf of a widow who was in dispute with her three step-children, over the estate of her late husband. There were assets in both the UK and the EU.
The house was held as joint tenants and as such passed to the step-mother automatically on her husband's death. There were numerous rental properties and a variety of other assets. A full settlement was reached between the parties, and a deed of variation was completed.
