Hospital turns away ambulances
Figures obtained by Channel 4 News show that there were 87 ‘Service Transfers’ at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield that is operated by Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust.
It had emerged that during 2011 the hospital turned ambulances away nearly 90 times because it could not cope with any more patients.
In turn, paramedics were told to travel an additional 10 miles ‘under blue light conditions’ to the nearest alternative hospital, because its Accident Unit had reached capacity.
We have a specialist clinical and medical negligence team who have undertaken numerous successful claims for patients involved in the negligent delay of treatment by the Ambulance Service and Hospital Trusts.
