History of Moss and Poulson

Moss and Poulson was established by Frank W Moss, who had qualified as a solicitor in 1939. Frank started his practice after wartime service in an office on Dogpole, Shrewsbury in 1952. Later he moved to Claremont Bank, where the firm has been for nearly half a century.

David Poulson joined Frank Moss in 1962, and became a partner in 1965. David says the first he knew of the partnership was when Frank Moss showed him a design of letterhead saying "Moss and Poulson" and asked him if he approved!

Michael Limbrey joined them as an assistant solicitor in 1973, shortly before a move from 5 Claremont Bank, next door to number 4 - a surprisingly complicated business with a crane parked on Claremont Bank to move the office safes.

Michael Limbrey became a partner in 1975.

When Frank Moss died unexpectedly in January 1979, the other members of the office had to take over clients and business which he had handled as senior partner for many years. This was not an easy time!

The next arrival was Kieran Bond, who joined the firm as an assistant solicitor in 1981, and became a partner in 1984.

Richard Ashton came as an assistant solicitor in 1997, and joined the partnership in 2001.

Moss and Poulson were proud of an established reputation in Shropshire and beyond in private, business and property law. There are clients who have been with the firm for over fifty years and others for who we are acting for the second and third generation.

David Poulson retired in 2003 and six years later Moss and Poulson joined Linder Myers, creating a new environment to continue our professional service to clients.
