Deputyship - completing annual accounts
If you have been appointed as a Deputy for an individual who is unable to manage their affairs by reason of impaired mental capacity then you are required to complete an annual report. You must file an annual account and report with the Court of Protection in a prescribed form. The accounts must detail the financial transactions of the previous year as well as provide further information concerning the individual’s affairs.
How can Linder Myers help?
We have a Court of Protection department that regularly deals with the completion of accounts, and it can be time consuming to deal with all of the paperwork. We will go through the finances with you and complete the documentation for the Court.
At the same time, we can advise upon any areas that come to light regarding the management of the individual’s affairs that may assist you in the future. These might be issues concerning income tax, welfare benefits, the level of a security bond or the general policy regarding the investment of the funds (although we are not financial advisers and would not undertake a review of the investments).
Why choose Linder Myers?
The Deputyship Account is an important document and must be filed with the Court. We have the benefit of regularly completing accounts and can advise and assist on all aspects.
Our dedicated team are experienced in this matter and can provide you with the necessary advice to make this as simple a process as possible.
